Viton Bellow Mechanical Seal

A Viton® bellows mechanical seal is a high-performance sealing component combining a flexible bellows structure (typically metal or PTFE) with Viton (fluoroelastomer) secondary sealing. These seals are widely used in rotating equipment like pumps and agitators, particularly in chemical, petrochemical, and high-temperature environments.

Bellows

• Material: Can be welded metal (e.g., Hastelloy, Inconel, stainless steel), PTFE, or rubber.

• Function: Acts as both spring and secondary seal, compensating for shaft misalignment and thermal expansion.
  
  

  1. Primary Sealing Faces

     • Typically durable materials such as silicon carbide (SiC), carbon, or tungsten carbide.

  2. Secondary Seal (O-ring or elastomer)

     • Made from Viton, chosen for its excellent chemical resistance and broad temperature range.
